About Us
A little overview
Since opening its doors in January 2005, the Tunnels has quickly established itself as one of the top live music venues in Scotland. From the outset The Tunnels mission was to provide a platform for new and emerging bands and showcase some of the best in live music from around the world and from all genres. So far it hasn’t disappointed.
Our 300-capacity venue has played host to a stellar line-up of acts, including Hot Chip, Kate Nash, The Kooks, Ladytron, Nine Black Alps, The Pastels, Gallows, Malcolm Middleton, Reverend and the Makers, Micah P. Hinson, Frank Turner, Enter Shikari, Terry Reid, Aberfeldy, The Archie Bronson Outfit and much, much more! And as one of the main venues for both Go! North music festival and Triptych, (along with The Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh and the Tramway, Glasgow) The Tunnels set the stage for sell-out gigs.
The Tunnels prides itself on its eclecticism and for promoting all that is great within the local and, more generally, UK music scene. The Tunnels loves music, in all is guises, and is committed to bringing the best in entertainment to the streets of Aberdeen.
Live music precedes club nights, which occur frequently throughout the week and weekend. From hip-hop and funk to sixties beats, indie and northern soul, The Tunnels provides an intimate and unusual setting for gig-goers and clubbers of all ages.
Well-received by all that venture in, The Tunnels ultimately makes a more than welcome addition to the buzzing Aberdeen music scene, and hopefully provides something that is just a little bit different…
